What to Bring to Your Newborn Session

Short answer: almost nothing. Here's exactly what's provided at the studio and what's genuinely worth thinking about beforehand.

You don't need to bring much to a newborn photography session — wraps, hats and set-ups are provided at the studio, so preparation is mostly about your baby, not a bag of equipment.

What the Studio Already Provides

Simple wraps, hats and set-ups suited to a newborn are ready at the studio, along with a private, one-family-at-a-time space and time built in for feeding, soothing and breaks. None of it is overdone — the aim is a calm session, not a long list of props.

What's Worth Bringing

If there's a particular outfit, wrap or keepsake you'd like included in your baby's photos, it's worth mentioning it when you book so the session can be planned around it. Beyond that, there's genuinely little else required.

Feeding and Timing

Feeding and soothing happen on your baby's own schedule during the session, not a fixed one, with time built in before posing starts for your baby to settle into the space. If your baby needs a feed or a break partway through, the session simply pauses for it.

If You're Bringing Family

Many families also include a few portraits with parents, siblings or grandparents alongside the individual newborn images — if that's something you'd like, it's worth mentioning when you book so there's time for it.

Arriving Prepared

Beyond your baby and anything specific you'd like included, there's nothing else to organize. The full session experience walks through what happens from arrival to delivery, and you can book a session whenever you're ready to plan a date.
